Left Alice this morning and ended up staying in Del Rio, Texas for the night. Small town right next to the Rio Grande. We are following the Rio Grande towards Arizona, taking the southernmost route. We got in about 300 miles.

Today we traveled about 250 miles and are staying in Marfa, Texas. We stopped at Judge Roy Bean's town of Langtry, Texas. Very interesting man, Roy Bean. We left there and stopped at Marfa, Texas. This has been one of my chosen destinations. They have mystery lights outside of town along the horizon that have been there since the late 1800's and have not been explained. There are many ideas but nothing concrete to explain these lights. I think martians...... We went out in the evening to view the lights and were disappointed in no seeing them, although Mark did say he saw a glow for a few seconds when I was looking at a display.
In Marfa we also golfed at the highest golf course in Texas at 4500 feet above sea level. It also happened to be the dryest golf course in Texas in my opinion.
We stayed at the Tumble In RV Park. This was the office. Turned out to be a self checkin. We never saw another living soul while we were there. There were two old, old, Airstream trailers way in the back, you can see them in this photo. No lights, no cars, I think they were decoys to make people like us think someone else was at this RV park.
This is another shot of our empty RV Park. Oh, there were also, no toilets, no garbage cans, no showers, no WIFI, no cable or laundry. Felt like I was at a Walmart except we had to pay. Oh, I guess we didn't HAVE to pay because there was nobody there.....but we did.
This is a heads up to our friends Blaine and Chris or should I say a warning. Life with the Johnsons can be an adventure.

Today we were up early and heading to El Paso, Texas. We didn't stay long, however. It was a little disappointing. Sprawling metropolis of towns that went on for quite a while. Just didn't care to stay. We headed towards Tucson, our final destination for this leg of the trip and while driving saw billboards advertising Silver City, New Mexico. Decided that it sounded interesting. It is like a small Santa Fe. Artists, very cool downtown area. We will stay a night or two. Maybe get some golf in.
